Interviews is one thing that has been conducted for many years. It is something that most company do in order to hire the best candidate for the position. Even though, interview has been around for some time, the process and how it is done has change over the years. Interviews started as a two person having a conversation on the candidate, company and positon. Normally, this is done in person at the company in an office. With the changes in society and especially with technology growing, interviews are now being done over the phone, emails, videos and social media. I have posted a job description for a human resource recruiter to help recruit more individuals to the position and the location. After receiving multiple number of resume and cover letter for the position. One individual stood out among the other. This candidate stood out one because she made it clear that customer service was her strength. She did this by providing four highlight why this was her best attribute to the company. In being a human resource recruit you must have customer service skill, and be able to know how to handle people and communicate to them. This show that she is a people person, which the company would do great because in this position you are representing the company and meeting people all time. So we want to hire someone that we are confident in doing this in many settings. Another thing that stood out about her resume was that she can display how to be a leader and a team player at the same time. Not everyone has the ability to multi task and be able to be flexible when they are in a situation. That comes with have the ability to use analysis and decision making. This skill set is shown on this individual resume and allow the company to know that she can be able to make the right decision at the right time for the best interest of the company, her peer and herself. Now with the advancement of society you have interviews through video conferencing, emails, chats, social media and you have different behavioral and situation interviews. Therefore, the forms of interview are continuing to broad themselves, so candidates have to improve their skills and be flexible because you never know which form of interview that you will be require to use if not more than one. For the candidate that was going to be interview for the position of human resource recruiter we agreed to use phone as the form to conduct the interview. We choice this form because it was able to work with both schedules. Two, both parties were in a different state and different time zone. So we selected a time that would work best to conduct the interview. One challenge and disadvantage of phone interviews is distractions. There are so many things that can distract the interviewer and the person that is going through the process. When you have distractions it hinders both parties in so many ways. One for the person conducting the interview they can’t get an accurate assessment of the person and read their body language. Also they might not be able to hear them and have to be repentant of saying hello and speak louder.
