MY PERSONAL STATEMENT
From an early age, the environment of commerce has always been a part of who I am. I came from a background where my family have been actively involved in Trade for the last sixty years. However, they have always limited themselves to just being vendors, wholesaling and retailing of goods. After moving to Trinidad, my mother followed the same pattern, operating business as a vendor. Decided on having a career in business, I began to evaluate my family's history of repetitiveness in order to help me understand what I wanted to do. With the objective of turning Trade into a legitimate family business, I believe that Howard University MBA program will provide me with an international world-class education that will help me accomplish this goal and become a successful business professional.
Born in Georgetown, Guyana, I moved to Trinidad when I was 11 years with my mother and younger sister.

I believe that Howard University MBA program will increase my knowledge in areas that I have not yet encountered and grasp complex of finance, marketing strategies, statistics and Information Systems. It is essential that I master these skills to evolve in this competitive corporate world since my ultimate objective is to secure a top Managerial position. What attracted me most about HUMBA is that the program offers a diverse cultural environment. With my diversity experience, I will feel right at home. Secondly, for the past 14 years, HUMBA was ranked as the No. 1 for the "Greatest Opportunity for Minority Students" by Princeton Review. Thirdly, there is also a great opportunity to closely network with alumni's and learn through seminars from global business leaders. Most importantly, students can get involved in community activities, which is something that I can continue to be a part of while away from
