IXL is a progress monitoring system that students, teachers, and parents can use that focuses on 4 different core subjects, Math, Language Arts, Science, and Social Studies. The skills that this program offers correlates to Oregon’s Common Core State Standards and the Oregon Early Childhood Foundations. With the alignment to state standards, this program provides unlimited practice problems tailored to each required standard. One of the key features of this program is that it grants teachers and parents the ability to view exactly what their student is practicing and will also receive a report of the student’s performance. Student quickview lets the teacher and/or parent(s) get an overview of the student’s/class practice trends, with recent skills and scores from each student. Student details is a feature that offers the ability to see all practice highlights for one student, including recent sessions, skills, and scores. Skills practiced presents a list of all the skills that the class or a student has been working on, with a mini diagnosis for each. Skill diagnostics gives the teacher the ability to track the class progress through a specific skill, explore item types, and get student groupings. Score grid is a cool feature that allows the teacher and/or parent(s) the ability to see all of the scores—for every student on every skill—in one convenient place. Question log presents every question a student has answered in a skill—enabling analysis or one-on-one review. The feature of progress and improvement lets the teacher and/or parent(s) see the full picture of a student’s progress, with year-long improvement across all topics.
