The topic may be used in my classroom to impact student learning and support the goals and mission of my clinical site. It helps me know the reality of instructional planning and how to plan for my three lessons in CED 300. I know due to being an LBD major I will focus more on individual goals for individual students as they develop an IEP. To make an impact on student learning before class even starts, I can set up the physical arrangement of the classroom to benefit my students. Through the use of technology and the other teachers in the classroom, I can look into someone else’s knowledge for help. A great research based resource given in this topic that I may use is Edutopia.com. It provides teachers with a variety of resources to use in their classroom. To help impact student learning, a routine will be recreated. It allows me to free my mind about other things in the classroom and focus on teaching the lesson. A repertoire is important to have as an alternative when it is necessary. In the book it suggests a repertoire of procedures for classroom organization that includes peer teaching, cooperative work, and individualized seatwork. I learned that in my future classroom I need to keep in mind the long term goals that are important in the classroom. I learned that looking at new ideas and procedures it will help to look at analogies. I know I need to create a lesson plan to outline the procedure to the lessons activities. I need to allow students to “act” at times in class and other times be part of the “audience” It is important for student learning for students to receive the information then be able to apply it.
