Intelligence is the general mental ability to learn and apply knowledge to handle your environment, as well as the capability to reason and have intellectual thought. There are two types of intelligence: Emotional and intelligence quotient. Emotional intelligence is the ability or capacity to perceive, judge, express and manage the feelings of one 's own self, and of others. Intelligence quotient is the score of an intelligence test that is a number derived from standardized psychological tests of a person’s capacity to learn.
Emotional intelligence stands out among the indicators of success. Many studies demonstrate that Emotional intelligence is a superior marker to progress than a higher IQ (intelligence quotient). Emotional intelligence demonstrates how much a man can manage and change his day by day activities in his regular day to day existence. Self-Awareness: Self-Awareness is being careful or aware of your identity, convictions, qualities, shortcomings, feelings and so forth.
Allah swt says:
“And be not like those who forgot Allah, so He made them forget themselves. Those are the defiantly disobedient.” (Hashr-19)
The above ayah tells us the importance of knowing ourselves and its link with knowing Allah S.W.T.
Managing Emotions: After learning to recognize your emotions, you must now learn how to control them. In Islam, the concept of Managing emotions is very easy and simple. The whole concept sums up in two easy points:
