Introductory Marketing Course Analysis

Marketing is an essential part of a business. Marketing tells the story of that business, explains why they do what they do and what sets them apart from all other competitors. College students can also apply what they learn from marketing into their lives in term of personal branding. Thus, it is important that all business majors take an introductory marketing course to benefit themselves and their companies in the long run.
Firstly, taking an introductory marketing course helps business students to make decision about what they actually want to do in their future. We are at that point in our lives where most of us are still trying to figure out what we want to major in and what kind of job we want after graduating. Nowadays, companies are looking to hire well-grounded individuals. Students need to at least have the basic knowledge about different aspects of business. They will complete their job more efficient due to understanding the needs of each department in their company. From personal experience, being an owner of two online shops, I find it really useful taking different introductory courses at Mays, especially marketing. I launched my business on Etsy, in which I create decorative potteries, wall art décor posters, note cards and fashion illustrations using calligraphy and art skills. I am the owner, the manager, the designer, the accountant, the marketer and the customer service. Knowing a little bit in each area helps me operate my shop better and as a result, I have been very successful.
