As cliche as it sounds, after visiting Montclair State University for the first time, there wasn’t a doubt in my mind that it was number one on my list of where I would love to attend college. The realization that it is the school for me has made my college search fairly easy; for there hasn’t been another school I have visited that I like as much as Montclair. When I stepped onto the campus, the physical beauty of it astonished me as well as the welcoming, promising and diverse atmosphere. I knew right away this was the place I would love to spend the next four years of my life learning, socializing, and blossoming as a person. The last thing I want is to be at a huge college I can easily get lost in. I do not want to be just a face among hundreds of other students in a classroom; I want to to form more personal relationships with my professors and other students in my classes. The intimacy of the school gives me a sense of ease and assures me that my time in college will leave a lasting impression on myself, as well as others. A vital reason why I seek admission to Montclair State is because of its location. The proximity of Montclair to my home in central Jersey is perfect for me. After being born and raised in New Jersey, I have no urge to attend college outside the state. I appreciate and enjoy New Jersey so much that attending college here would be ideal for me. The location of Montclair will allow me to feel comfortable living at school with the my family only a little over an hour away. One of my biggest academic strengths that has positively impacted my academic record is my ability to speak publicly and never being afraid to share my ideas or knowledge.
