Early into high school, students are groomed to look into colleges and universities that will benefit them after graduating. It’s constantly stressed by adults to pursue the college education. As for me, Michigan State University has caught my interests due to its academic, financial, and social aspects. Located in East Lansing, Michigan and founded in 1855, the public research university is home to a plethora of diverse cultures, dedicated students, and service-learning programs that I wish to eventually associate myself with. When researching colleges, the academic factors should be considered and properly observed. It’s best to attend a college that specializes in the major and career path that you have chosen for yourself. I chose MSU due to its focus on Biomedical Sciences and it’s wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs; However, the outstanding performing arts program is what’s caught my attention. Music and performing arts plays a huge role in my life, so being able to attend a college that has a world renowned marching band adds emphasis onto why I want to go to Michigan State University. Furthermore, the required grade point average is 3.65 and the acceptance rate is only about 65.7%.
