Computers and technology have always fascinated me since childhood. Over summer breaks during my preteen years, I would walk to the nearest library and sit there for hours on end; reading various periodicals such as PC World that would have articles pertaining to the latest and greatest technology out on the market at the time. Throughout elementary and middle school, my strongest subjects were mathematics and science. I genuinely was enthusiastic about these subjects and always loved learning new material in both of these areas. For high school, I attended Dunbar High School which was the only high school in my district that offered an Academy for Technology Excellence Program and a Center for Math and Science. Being able to attend Dunbar High School was a dream come true since I was able to utilize the exclusive resources and programs offered by the institution that reinforced and solidified my interests in the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.

in Fort Myers, Florida where I worked as a web developer. I was in charge of website construction, maintenance of client’s websites, and managing databases. Having a chance to revisit the web programming languages (i.e. HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript) that I had used in my senior capstone project and the opportunity to experiment with newer web technologies such as PHP and WordPress, along with being able to transform bland webpages into dynamic and interactive websites had converted my interest in the web development field into a passion.
