Is Psychotherapy a Beneficial Method of Therapy?
It’s the holidays and there are gifts to buy. Stress. Flu season is in full throttle and people are trying to stay healthy. Stress. Jobs to make money. Stress. People to please. Stress. An average person’s life is filled with many things that can overwhelm a person, cause anxiety, worry, or (as mentioned) stress. But it doesn’t need to be that way. There are things that individuals can do to manage their lives, so they can enjoy life more and get the most from it. Although the term psycho literally refers to the term psychopath, psychotherapy is known as general therapy that can be used in order to help people live healthy, happy, productive lives. Any individual can benefit from psychotherapy. Some reasons psychotherapy is often used is when a person is feeling overwhelmed or stressed with a new career, divorce, a new relationship, or certain growing phobias. Psychotherapy also helps treat anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, addiction, marital or family issues, and bipolar disorder.
Take into consideration an average teenage boy. Now normally teenagers are full of various hormones. Stressor number one. Next, add school onto the list. Stressor number three. With school comes homework. Stressor number three. Already there has been named three major ways teens can stress, and adults can stress in similar if not the same ways. Adults have work, relationships, and (even still) hormones.
