Itaas Mission Statement

Initially, I was looking for a fitness company in order to provide a continuation of the topic previously chosen for my Discussion Assignment. Since I didn’t find anything that inspired me, I moved to a different category, that of‘computer and hardware’ and I selected the EMC corporation. ITaaS is the acronym for Information Technology as a service, which means that the IT organization of a company is seen more like a separate business unit within the entire organization. It helps the company save costs on IT assets, maintenance, and human resources.

The company’s ‘about us’ page provides different links to specific information, for instance, the corporate profile, the annual overview, awards and recognitions, EMC milestones, etc. In the first link, the ‘corporate profile’, the mission statement is again emphasized in the first phrase, with a following explanation on how they want to achieve said mission. EMC wants to move the information technology to cloud computing, helping companies to save money on IT assets and consequently, to save physical space, reduce costs of infrastructure, maintenance and human resources. The page continues, providing information on products, services, and financial information of the company. For example, you can find evidence of recent investments in research and new acquisitions of seventy-five technology companies.
