“Abortion is one of the most controversial topics today. Abortion is when a pregnancy is ended so that it doesn't result in the birth of a child.” Do us humans have the right to end a baby’s life before they are even born? Abortion is an idea that many people have today. They get pregnant by accident and do not want the baby or in a rare occasion, one baby has to die for the other to live. Some people believe that abortion is ethically wrong such as John Locke and some people support it such as Peter Singer. Abortion is murder and most religions go against taking another person’s life. In Christianity taking another person’s life is one of the foulest sins one can commit. In the bible, God refers to the concept of abortion. In Luke chapter one, verses 36 and 41, we are told that Elisabeth conceived a "son" and that the "babe" leaped in her womb. “God does not say that a "fetus" leaped in her womb! He says THE BABE leaped. This is the exact same word that God uses to describe Christ in the manger AFTER He is born (Luke 2:12, 16). In God's eyes, an unborn babe and a newborn babe are the same. They are both living human beings!” This proves to show that in the religion of Christianity abortion is the same thing as taking a life because God in the bible refers to the unborn baby and the born baby as human beings. As well as Christianity, Hinduism also strictly condemns abortion. Hinduism believes in reincarnation. They believe once a person dies their soul will be brought to life and live inside a new vessel. They also believe in nonviolence. There is simply too many topics to cover when discussing the pros and cons of abortion. Their will always be people who go against abortion because some of the most popular religions go against it, such as Christianity and Hinduism. These two religions have been around for hundreds of years so the belief that abortion is bad, is not going to go away as long, as religion is a major factor in our lives. Sometimes abortion can not be avoided, because the mother’s life can be endangered during the process of giving birth. What occurs frequently in our time, is that women get impregnated by accidental. Usually, this happens when a female is around her late teens or early twenties. At this point in their life, they can not afford to have a baby and their only option is to have an abortion. If the parents do keep the child where they are struggling to get by, they would be forced to drop out of school and pick up a job in order to support their child. On television, there is a show called “ Teen Moms” which shows us and talks about the difficulties in raising a child at a young age. These parents did not choose the option of abortion but instead kept their child even though they are young themselves. They had given up on going to school ( high school and\or college), get a job and was forced to leave most of their friends because they had to devote most of their time to the baby.
