Many schools are starting to cut some of the most loved and most important electives since they have a small budget and want more time for required classes. I think it is a bad idea to cut electives because they have a tight budget. If the schools cut electives because of a tight budget, they are going to take away fun class periods from kids. Some kids look forward to their electives because they never get a break from the normal academic classes we are required to take every day. If schools cut band and music classes, some kids' brains will never have the stimulation and the critical thinking skills for their life in the future. Some of the friends you get from marching bands can go on to become one of your best friends in the world. The next reason we should keep band electives is because the students typically get better grades. “Experts tested that kids in a band get higher SAT scores and higher graduation rates among those who play musical instruments. Most of them want to go and learn more about music since you can only go so far in middle and high school. “They grow artistically and academically as a result.” They have to learn how to play their instrument of choice. They also have to push themselves out of the comfort zone they are used to when it comes to performing, preparing for a concert, and getting their high pitches out of their instruments, which can be a very hard challenge.
