I am currently a sophomore pursuing a major in marketing, while minoring in management. After graduation I would like to be a marketing manager at a company in Dayton or Cincinnati. I believe technology will play a huge rule in my career, no matter where I choose to work. After taking Information Systems, I have learned that there is a lot of new technologies that exist in today's world that will aid marketers, like me, and that will aid other careers as well. In order for marketers to reach their goal they use technology to their competitive advantage. Every company has technology, but you have to know how to use the technology correctly to put you at an advantage. Marketers are able to use technology to strengthen their brand name. Social Media is a great way to do this because, you are able to reach many customers at once by telling them about upcoming sales, new products, or anything they want their customers to know about. Most consumers don't really trust ads they see on TV or online, but they do however trust other consumer recommendations. Social Media pages also allow other consumers to rate the company, and when a company gets a good rating that is great for their brand image. Companies use Ad-Retargeting as a form of online- advertising that helps keep their brand in front of the consumer, even after they leave their website. For example, you are shopping online and leave that page, and then you start scrolling through Facebook and see an Ad pop-up for the same store you were just shopping at, that is Ad-Retargeting.
