The fascination of the brain and how it works all started when her older brother was diagnosed with schizophrenia. “Because of my brother, I was hungry to understand what “normal” was at a neurological level.”(pg.5) “Studying the brains of individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia brought me a feeling of
I remain positive and energetic because I always look forward to challenges in life. As ex professional athlete, I always set realistic targets and time scale for myself and others I teach. This method ensures that you concentrate on your targets and remain focused on tasks ahead step by step. I have a different way of training and teaching. I focus on psychology using mind over matter as I believe every person can do any given task.
The human mind is one of the most complex structures created. It is difficult to understand each brain process as every human being possesses their own distinguished thought patterns with different levels of complexities. A person’s mind greatly influences their behavior, which eventually transforms into a habit by becoming embedded into their character. Today, the world of psychology has such an understanding of the human brain. However, even before the field of Psychology was brought into practice, some writers shined a spotlight on the mechanism of the human brain in their works.
My educational goal to pursue a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Trauma and Crisis Counseling is a result of my personal life experiences and my admiration for those who work in this field, dedicated to helping those who may feel dragged down by toxic cycles and heavy memories, like myself once did, to create a life filled with meaning. As a Sociology major in my undergraduate career, I’ve always been interested in other people and why they operate the way that they do. It wasn’t long after earning my bachelors that I came to the belief that my past experiences and mental health journey could become my superpower to help others, and that if I wish for society to collectively feel better, then the focus on
I stand out because I am invested in my future. For the past few years I have dedicated myself to my future career by taking the most difficult classes that my school has to offer. This has helped me be a better student as I have some knowledge of the classes I will be taking in college. I am an independent, organized person as I am able to juggle my classes, extracurriculars, and other activities. Another way that I am unique is my ability to take charge in a situation.
Since beginning my search for the right college, I have had to ask myself these similar questions to help me decide what school will be the best fit for me and allow me to take in the full college experience. It was simple to become interested in Eau Claire because of the positive recommendations from people in my life and because of the location, which I found intriguing. I spoke to many alumni who articulated the positive aspects offered by Eau Claire and encouraged me to consider it as a great option for my future education. Knowing people who have graduated and who are currently attending Eau Claire makes it easier to feel more secure in my decision to apply and envision myself becoming a Blugold. The college location and size were important features because I wanted to have an out of state experience as well as attend a school that was not too
Living with any form of mental illness is never an easy task for one person to deal with alone. My main reason for applying to this course is to attain the knowledge, skill set, and credentials to be able to start and maintain a fulfilling career as mental health professional, specifically a school counselor. My primary interest in counseling started with my own journey as a teenager with depression and finding out that many of my friends at the time were also suffering from stress and overwhelming mental health conditions that we did not fully understand at the time. This experience was the catalyst that encouraged me to pursue a career in the mental health field so that I could better understand the emotional and psychological conflict that
As a person with other people’s interests at heart, their happiness remains my top priority. Therefore, studying a course that elevates people’s welfare and happiness has always been my interest; a factor that motivated me to pursue the Wellness and Alternative Medicine program. Ever since I was little all I have ever wanted to do, was is something in the medical field. Modern medicine is a great but today, a patient is just a set of symptoms. Modern medicine lacks the holistic treatment of the body, mind, and spirit of a person that I love about Alternative medicine.
Counseling is a field that thrives on opportunities for influence, empowerment, and meaningful work. As a school counselor, I will be responsible for positively influencing the trajectory of a student’s life. I am driven by the opportunity to address issues within the field of education and make a difference for future generations. Specifically, I am passionate about making an impact on the lack of emphasis placed on the resources available to students within the field of education. This lack of awareness of resources causes students to limit their educational and professional goals, inevitably marginalizing a large student population.
What would you say is your greatest talent or skill is?How have you developed and demonstrated that talent over time. A talent that I have is working and riding motorcycles. At Rice, I would share my passion for creating new technology, and the experience I have had in project management and development. Having attended several coding competitions, I know what it takes to make an app or website in only 24 hours. Being surrounded by advanced coders in my high school, I have learned from them the nuances of programming languages like JavaScript and Swift, and hope to share my knowledge with future Owls. As the VP of the Web and App Club, I was a leader of a project to create an app for the Interact Club at my high school. Through collaboration and teamwork, I, along with several other members, were able to complete the Interact App by the beginning of the school year.
The thing that motivates me to achieve in life is my church and the relationships with both my church family and to God. My church family most definitely gives me a sense of belonging, an urge to continue learning, and more than a few reasons to live. For this reason, they have, without a doubt, been the sole reason I have accomplished anything thus far, and God is the only reason I will ever succeed again. The Bible has been translated into over 100 different versions as well as into over 500 languages.
I would like to start off by saying thank you for taking the time to consider my application to attend the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. When looking for colleges, I had to pick which would be the best choice for me going down the business path. When a friend told me about looking into Whitewater, I did and it was at that moment I knew it was one of my top choices. When hearing you have one of the best business schools in the state, I realized that this college was one that would provide me with a great education. I am interested in going into Business Administration and Management.
It was in my 3rd year of BSC Nursing that i discovered my passion for mental health and psychology, then I made up my mind to go for it , Back in my country we tend to neglect mental health illness. A lot of people in my country don’t believe mental health exist. In black community or my country in general we seem to believe we are strong, nothing can break us down, it has gotten into us so much that we don’t believe in mental illness. There is also a social stigma for health professionals studying any psychiatry or psychology course in my country it is seem irrelevant, we have just one percent of mental health workers in my country. I want to be a part of generation that creates awareness to my country about mental
Lately there has been a grand concern towards the diets of children throughout the whole world where many support the idea that the media has a big impact when it comes to children’s food choice while some do not agree with this idea of influence.
