To make a significant change in the world, countless hours of preparation, of work, and proactive cooperation with others are crucial for success. I partake in few extra-curricular activities, but I have dedicated years of my life to them all. On a regular week, I have to balance French club and National French Honor Society secretary duties, community service for National Honor Society, and additional choir practice for at least two hours after school each week (while sometimes performing community service with the choir as well). I want to become an engineer; so I take AP classes that are useful and interest me because I will need to know advanced math and science concepts in college. All of these extra-curricular activities and academics will become even more relevant when it is time for me to advance my future goals of pursuing a higher education and making significant efforts to aid the world by designing helpful technology with medical applications.
As I volunteered at medical centers and learned about the professions of doctors, I will continue to pursue these interests by partaking in clubs such as the American Medical Student Association to learn more about the medical field as a career and the BioMedical Science Club to understand more about biological sciences and medicine. Furthermore, as I am currently taking a class on biomedical ethics, I desire to participate in the Bioethics Forum to discuss ethical issues facing in the medical world. Additionally, As I have partaken in Red Cross in which has allowed me to bring awareness to different diseases, I will be able to continue this activity in Heart to Heart to raise alertness to the risks of high blood pressure and Emergency Health Education to instruct emergency procedures regarding to health since I am First Aid, CPR, and AED certified. In the Tandon School of Engineering, I will major in the Science and Technology Studies program and understand more about the relations between science and
When you hear the word friendship, what kind of person do you think about? Most people may think about their own friends, or the traits of someone who is friendly to someone else, but there are cases where there are bad friendships. In the novella “Of Mice and Men” by John Steinbeck, there are good friendships and bad friendships shown throughout the story between Lennie Small, a big and very unintelligent or thick-headed person, and George Milton, a thin and conservative person who looks after Lennie. I believe George was a good friend to Lennie overall.
As my senior year in High School is nearing its end, I still have a few important goals to accomplish. I want to get fives on my three AP tests (Calculus BC, Chemistry, and Physics C), so I can go into college with some credit for my intended major chemical engineering. I also want to learn as much as I can in these last couple months to better myself for the future. My final academic goal is to finish the year off with all A’s. I want to finish my senior year as strong as my past years.
In the “Your Honors and Activities” section, I only listed the activities that I have participated in for more than 3 years. But, I choose to write my essay on the most important activity to me than I am currently been participating in for less than a year - my volunteer work at the Child Development Institute’s Early Learning Center. I find this the most important activity to myself because volunteering at the Early Learning Center allows me to express a side I don’t feel comfortable expressing in front of my family - my love for working with children. Also, when I volunteer, that is the happiest you’ll see me.
My hope is to finish this year with a 3.5 grade point average and I will accomplish this by staying consistent with my assignments, by not procrastinating and linking up with my professors if I need help. I plan on managing my time better so that I can have time to study, work and stay involved with the community. I will also set time for myself to reflect and take care of myself so that way I am at my best. I also plan on volunteering at different hospitals and clinics such as Sea Mar Community Health Centers and HealthPoint. By situating m self in these environments I will gain experience that will be helpful to me in the future as well as information and experience on what I will be doing in the
I have to take health science to become a nurse practitioner. The reason I want to take those classes is because I fill like I will really in joy them and I will learn a lot from them. In my freshman year, I want to try out for basketball and volleyball.
Goals for the New Position: Early Months to One Year My goals are to evaluate the options for nurse practitioner in the homecare setting, develop a plan for selection, and evaluate the best place of employment. The plan for section and evaluation pertain to months one, two, and three. The first year goal is to master the advance beginner level.
My educational goal is to earn a degree in Biology and Spanish from the University of California, Riverside, in hopes of getting a job inside the laboratory department at Kaiser. Based on labs that I have already done at the University, I found that I enjoy working in a similar setting. I would love to have the opportunity to shadow a connoisseur in a similar work environment, as it would be a valuable learning experience. I come from a low-income family in Oakland, California. The economic barrier that has restricted my family has prevented us from moving out from where we live.
Learn from goals Learning opportunities happen everyday. Everyday you get a little bit smarter because of the experiences and the events that happen and now if the same thing happens again now you know how to handle it. But everyone has things they strive for or accomplish these are called goals. Goals are much harder to achieve because they are suppose to take more effort so when it is accomplished you can see hard work pays of.
My 8th grade social studies teacher always use to say “ A goal without a deadline is just a dream.” With that, he was telling us to prepare to achieve our goals. I sort of carried that with me into highschool life and planning out my future. I have different goals set for the stages of my life, like high school, college, and adult life. Everything you do should push you a little closer to your overall life goals.
In my previous blog (My 2018 Reading Goals) , I mentioned that one of my reading goal this year is to finish 50 books. To be able to achieve it, I plan to finish at least one book per week. Therefore, I prepared a list of books that I would be read - or better known as TBR (to-be-read) in the book community. And in this month, I have prepared six books in my January TBR.
My goals have changed a lot over the last couple of years. Bouncing back and forth between majors and deciding if I even want to be taking college classes right now. I kept asking myself why I should struggle with hard classes when I have a good job right now. But then I stopped and repeated “good job right now.” My job as a twenty year old might support me right now but is it going to support me in ten or fifteen years when I’m trying to buy a house and support my family?
Personal Statement Describe several personal and professional goals you would like to achieve in the next five years, including why these goals are important to you. Goals are what keep us motivated to keep going and doing better than the day before. It is our goals that help us to keep pushing forward and be the best version of ourselves everyday. I have many professional and personal goals for myself.
When I graduate high school, I plan on having future goals that I plan on achieving. My first goal is to go to college and get a degree. I plan on attending Purdue NorthWest majoring in engineering and minoring in business. This is my number one future goal that I need to accomplish because to be able to have a nice life, I need to go to college to support my future family. My next future goal would be get a starting job to be able to support my future family.
