To be a successful, it is essential to show all five pillars of National Junior Honor Society. I believe that I represent these elements and can fulfill the requirements of the organization. As a consistent straight-A student, I demonstrate the ability to complete assignments responsibly with a persistent growth mindset. To be scholarly, I focus during tasks while managing my limited time.
My sophomore year in high school, I was nominated to be inducted into the National Honor Society. It was an honor to be chosen, seeing that the teachers had to nominate you. Now all I had to do was be accepted. Induction into the National Honor Society required an essay telling about yourself and why you should be chosen. I didn’t think I was very good at telling “why” I should be chosen.
Essay #1 Throughout my high school career I myself have participated in various Service activities which I believe all have benefited the community. The one service activity that stands out the most for me is when I began two Lego Robotics teams for children in elementary school and mentored the two teams. I was inspired to help tutor these kids and the I myself had the idea of mentoring these Lego teams because I remember how much I enjoyed building Lego robots when I was a kid. so;, I thought that what better than to teach kids about Robotics.
I took up many duties during my time volunteering, such as serving food, helping the children complete their crafts, cleaning, and doing several activities. Some days they would complete a craft which I would help to direct them with, and other days there would be a full activity depending on the theme of the program that summer. I would serve them their snacks, and also clean up after them when they finished. Of five years of doing this, I have completed at least 100 hours of community service at the library. Critter Club was another program at the Eccles-Lesher Memorial Library that I also volunteered for.

I’m a first generation american on my father's side and second generation on my mothers. In large part, who I am today, is a direct reflection of them immigrating to this country. I learned hard work, determination, and commitment through stories they shared with me about the lives they built when they arrived to America. I’m proud of my roots and the legacy that my parents and grandparents have instilled in me and much of who I am today is a reflection of their own hard work.
Georgetown instills values and ideals that include promoting social justice, fostering intellectual excellence, and educating the whole person. These values have been integrated into my dedication and passion to contributing to my on-campus communities. Throughout my four years at Georgetown, my academic performance, community outreach efforts, and pursuit for social justice embody these values. My first year at Georgetown was full of twists and challenges.
First of all, thanks for taking your time to write this recommendation letter, considering you probably have many more to write. I wish for you to write one because your sophomore English Honors class was the first challenging class I experienced in all my years of learning. I remember failing the first essay you assigned; I felt like giving up and I was certain the class would be more challenging than I previously thought. My prognostication was right, it was not easy, however I did improve by the end of the year and I had confidence in performing sharpened English work in my Junior and Senior year. To this day, I continue to improve my literary essays now that I have AP.
As Freshman year has come to an end, I begin reminisce and ask questions to myself like did I meet all of the requirement for 9th grade, what areas do I need to improvement in, how do I plan to improve in these areas? Also did I do my best work this year? And if I did, how will impact my college applications? And lastly do I have any new goals that I want for 10th Grade? All these question have been moving about in mind, and I believe I have found the right answer to each.
“Know this, you can start over, each morning.” - Tyler Joseph. It was soccer practice and I was making my way to the field. I was about seven or eight years old. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t make that one shot.
I would like to address my educational short comings. In high school, I was overwhelmed with the responsibilities of helping raise my two baby brothers with my mom. Those responsibilities included, but were not limited to: babysitting, household chores such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry; tending to the family dog, and just taking care of my own personal needs. It had gotten to the point that I had enrolled in independent study at Chico High School in fall 2010 so I could pick up a job for some extra money because funds were so tight. I was taking courses at Butte College by the summer of 2010 and immediately enrolled full-time for the fall 2011 semester after I graduated high school.
The person who got and opened my report card was my mom. I honestly do not know how she felt because she doesn 't really show her emotions or it 's just that I do not know how to see what kind emotion she has. I guess she was happy with the fact that I had some A 's. I don 't think she was happy to see a bad grade on my report card. My mom did not say anything when she opened it she just said good job on getting A 's. I think she had a smile on her face because we were in the car and I wasn 't facing her. My dad was in the car too because we were on our way to church and he wasn 't really happy with one of my grades.
Transcripts My freshman and sophomore years I did not do so great. Mainly in English, Math, and Science. I believe that I earned those poor grades because I wasn’t trying my hardest in those subjects, and I wasn’t paying attention in those classes. Once my father and grandmother pointed out that my bad grades will affect my future, and my ability to get a decent job I began paying more attention in all my classes, and started trying harder. Although I admit that I messed up in my past years and I have earned some unappealing grades my junior year
A sense of accomplishment is invaluable to a person. Not only does a sense of accomplishment build confidence and faith in oneself, but it also allows one to reflect on how wonderful the journey to the accomplishment was, and how every little struggle and triumph was worth it. In the middle of summer, where time seems endless and the stress of the previous school year has been shed by students, I never expected to find out that I scored a five on both of the advanced placement exams I took. Nor did I have one-hundred percent confidence the goals we set as section leaders of the marching band would actually be met. Yet to my surprise, I had the good fortune of accomplishing challenging things in both aspects of my life.
