Overview of company:
Microsoft, a leading technology company, focuses on technological services and development of computer software and hardware. In 1975 Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded Microsoft in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Although they have offices in more than 60 countries and over 15,000 retail stores, their corporate headquarters resides in Redmond, Washington. Employing 88,000 people who work across 32,000,000 square feet of Microsoft premises, they have career opportunities in finance, marketing, business, engineering, and computing. Since Xbox’ first release Microsoft released two new systems, the Xbox 360 and Xbox One, whose sales have made Microsoft one of the leading gaming corporations in the world. However, Microsoft Office, an office suite including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook, and Access, remains Microsoft’s most successful product. According to Microsoft, 60 million customers use their Office program daily. Microsoft Office is written in the coding language C++ and uses the Microsoft Windows operating system. Microsoft Word, a word processor, is undoubtedly the most popular program included in the suite; however, each app has a unique purpose and is available for download on Windows software and macOS. This position requires a self-motivated, customer-focused engineer to help with implementation of big data and machine learning technology into Microsoft’s products. In addition to requiring a degree in computer science, engineering, or IT related technical discipline, this position also requires coding experience in OOP languages such as C++, C#, and Java. Experience with monitoring, debugging, and troubleshooting code are also required, as well as a good understanding of core computer science concepts.
