After World World II began, Clauberg began conducting sterilization and artificial insemination medical experiments on women, children, and some men (2). Clauberg had met Heinrich Himmler, the leader of the SS and Reichsführer (2).
Honestly I like writing and reading and hearing people’s take on a text. This class, which was filled with all of that, however I did not like and my attitude clearly reflected that. Every student learns differently and personally no matter how much I favor the subject, I vibe off of my environment. My table mates. The life of the class.
The role of an educator is not only to teach the many children that come through our classrooms, it is essential to form relationships with students that makes them feel like they matter and that goes above and beyond a teacher's job. It is essential for children to feel valuable, appreciated and motivated in the early stages of their education, the reason why I am pursuing a Masters of Arts in Teaching for an Elementary level academic setting. Receiving a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education Sciences at the University of California Irvine and the leadership roles I have undertaken in my employment has prepared me to begin and undertake a Masters of Arts in Teaching
Arne Duncan, an American education administrator once said, “When I ask teachers why they teach, they almost always say that it is because they want to make a difference in the lives of children.” This statement hold true for countless teachers across the nation, and Mr. Warren Bowe is no exception. The moment the assignment was in my hands I began brainstorming possible candidates for the interview. Although I was disappointed I could not interview my former A.P. English teacher Mrs. Bowe, I was just as delighted to interview her husband, Mr. Bowe, whom taught English at Chippewa Falls Senior High School as well.
AP English and Dual Enrollment Government have prepared me the most for college. My AP English teacher opened my eyes to different types of literature and sources that is constantly referenced in my first college classes at Tidewater Community College. for example, Karl Marx is quoted a lot in the many theories of sociology. My Dual Enrollment Government course prepared me for this ample amount of reading in college. My professor would provide my class with multiple reading assignments to push our reading limits.
A time when I was faced with a significant challenge, but learned to overcome it was sophomore and junior year in history. History has always seem to be the class I tend to struggle in, no matter who I sit next to or how many notes I take. Sophomore as time when on to second semester I realized I wasn’t doing well; I was procrastinating with homework, not doing well on test, and stated to pay less attention in class. I got a D for the first semester and when I saw that on my report card I knew I had to change something. I realized history need to become a much higher priority.
Right now I am sixteen, before this I was fifteen, and fourteen and all of the other ages prior to sixteen. Being sixteen means that you can get your driver 's license, you can start doing things on your own. Sophomore year means that you don’t have to worry about being a little freshman, and you don’t have to start thinking about applying for colleges, or the ACT, or prom. In sophomore year, you are just kind of there, not really any purpose, you are just kinda there. When you are fifteen you can get your temps.
In Chapter Seven: Lessons From My Year as a Freshman, Rebekah Nathan summarizes and answers questions on the knowledge she gained from becoming a freshman. The author begins the chapter with a cross-cultural conversation between professors and students. She discusses how professors are not aware of the students living conditions or the effort that goes into achieving a high GPA. Likewise, the students do not understand professor rank and advancement.
When looking overall at Junior year, you view your grades and consider how you probably had a lot of pressure on you and your classes were harder than you expected going into it. My Junior year revolved around those ideas while taking a turning spin when my cousin passed away. Losing him was like losing the other half of not only myself, but my family. After the accident, we realized that he was our backbone. Focusing throughout school while the memories of that day streaming through my mind were never untroubled when trying to get through junior year.
I am writing to express my interest in applying for the Sophomore of the Year Award for the University of New England. Through my experience as a second year student at the University of New England, I have always been determined to be a leader to and a supporter of my peers. Some qualities that show that I am worthy of the Sophomore of the Year Award includes: Leadership: While a student at UNE, I have dedicated most of my free time to the development of programs on campus such as UNE’s Crew Team, UNE’s Housing Staff as well as The USG Sophomore Class Representative. As a member of UNE’s Crew Team, I have encouraged 6 students who are only involved with one other club to join crew and stay active. Without a good amount of rowers, only a few of our 7 new boats would be filled.
I would like to continue my education at Cal State La to pursue my post baccalaureate study and earn a teacher credential in mild to moderate disabilities. Becoming a teacher has always been a goal of mine, since I was young girl. I always known I wanted to become a teacher thanks to all the great teachers I had through my education in elementary and high school, who inspired me and pushed me to work hard because they cared. But, most importantly showed me how a teacher should teach and care for their students, making my experiences in school deeply meaningful. And because of all the great support they gave me I fell in love with the profession of teaching.
CTE helped me realize what I wanted to do in life. I was not sure if I wanted to peruse a career as a teacher or as a veterinarian, two very different career clusters. Therefore, I decided to take both of these courses to see which one I was interested in the most. CTE helped me realize that I enjoyed working with children. Therefore, CTE created a clear path for my future as a teacher.
I want to help children be able to succeed in every way possible because of what I saw my cousin go through. I am willing to go wherever help is needed as a speech pathologist to help people succeed. I do not know if I will pursue a higher degree than masters, but I have considered it as I realize that if I want to help teach it will be necessary. I plan on earning my degree in three years since I will spend my first year studying prerequisite courses which I wasn’t able to take in my undergraduate work. I have attended Southern Virginia University where the motto is “Preparing leader-servants” and a large focus is on developing service minded graduates.
Jekoi D. Lassiter Personal Statement UNCG School of Education Degree Objective: M.Ed. My interest in the field of Education dates back to my primary years of school. Throughout my elementary years, I was always fascinated with aiding my fellow classmates in the area of reading comprehension, through the usage of breaking apart words and using the correct skills and strategies to attack reading passages and questions. This love for literacy increased throughout my grade school career. In my senior year of High School, I was provided the opportunity to participate in an Apprenticeship where I served as a Third Grade Teacher Assistant at one of the local elementary schools.
I am pursing a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I am passionate about education and excited to share the joy of learning with students. The perspective of wonder and sense of excitement that children bring into education motivates me daily. Teaching can leave a lasting impression in a child’s life and offers a special opportunity to shape the bright young minds of future generations. While many professions can be impactful, I believe the qualities of the person in the career position to be the most influential.
