The heading from chapter 31 I chose is The “need to know” In my field agency, we do not solicit personal information from clients except it is essential to providing services or conducting social work evaluation for them. Even when the information asked is for the purpose of evaluation/assessment; at any point if the client refuses to disclose more information, they are not obligated to do so. However, to enable the clients feel comfortable in disclosing their personal information, we discuss the importance of privacy and confidentiality with them. Because my agency abides by the NASW Code of Ethics 1.07(a) which states that social workers should respect client’s right to privacy, we do not disclose as much as a client’s visit to the agency
