While in this program I wish to develop a stronger sense of my passion and field for science and to find a pathway that I would like to go on. While learning I also wish to get to know peers and companions and to socialize and make connections with my fellow peers. One of the pathways that I would like to go on at this moment is I would like to go on the medical pathway and become an oncologist which is a doctor for the study of cancer. As a prospective member of the Masters of Arts in History program at Liberty University I hope to accomplish several things. I am currently serving as a high school history teacher and this program will benefit both my students and myself alike in the foreseeable future. This includes reaching the goals of earning my master’s degree which will result in a higher level of professional knowledge in my content area, while increasing my income simultaneously. This is not the only positive factor, Liberty’s program will also contribute directly to growth in regards to my relationship with Jesus Christ.
I see myself being an engaged member of the WCU and Brinson Honors College community by being involved in community service opportunities, becoming a member of leadership organizations, and taking advantage of opportunities to study and serve in a different country or to participate in undergraduate studies. I plan to be engaged in the WCU community by being involved in all that I can be involved in. Specifically, I hope to become involved in at least one of the faith-based groups on campus, such as the Baptist Student Fellowship at WCU or the Campus Crusade for Christ. Becoming involved in faith-based organizations is important to me and will allow me to love God and love people better by learning more about God and participating in service projects that will share his love and truth. Additionally, I want to join a local Church family, where I hope to serve in various aspects of the Church, especially those that involve children, something that I am passionate about.
Throughout the college application process, it has become increasingly evident to me that NYU is unlike other schools due to its prioritization of individuality. Coming from a small Catholic high school, one of my goals for the next four years is to branch out and better myself through being a part of a diverse and open-minded student body. The diversity of culture, religion, opinion, and even personality at NYU is extremely important to me, and shows that the school is an open and accepting environment for all. The tradition of Ally Week especially interests me, as I am constantly trying to use the privileges I have been given to the advantage of those who do not share those same privileges. At NYU, I hope to achieve this goal. I aspire to give structure to my life by participating in rigorous courses that will enable me to pursue a career in treating mental illnesses. In the College of Arts and Sciences, I intend to acquire skills in communication, analytical thinking and understanding human social behavior, cultivating my passion for understanding what makes the human brain so fascinating. Situated in one of the largest cultural hubs of the world, NYU would allow me to, like the squiggle, explore my interests. I would be able to visit museums such as the Whitney or take part in clubs such the Slam Poetry Club and Model UN or even partake in the annual Strawberry Festival.
University of Chicago has the major I am interested in, Biological Sciences with a concentration in Neuroscience. Through the wide variety of study abroad opportunities the university offers, I could study about Middle Eastern civilizations in Jerusalem or civilizations while in Vienna. Along with studying abroad, I would love to take a Big Problem course in my senior year of college. A Big Problem course would give me the skills and knowledge needed to face major problems in the field I desire to pursue, the medical field. I aspire to become a pediatric neurologist to help alleviate the impact a mental or intellectual disability has on children with special needs.
I believe as a returning student to ISU, I had a unique experience in the class. I graduated with a degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services in May and decided that teaching was my true passion so I returned to Iowa State to begin earning that degree. I have worked for about four years for United Community Schools as a Lead Childcare Associate and as a Substitute Associate in both preschool and special education. Additionally, I have spent time as a Special Education Associate in Ankeny and have volunteered in Ames Community School District Classrooms. With my experience, I have spent a lot of time in schools and in classrooms.
New York University has always been the school I have pictured myself attending since I was a child. I walk past NYU on my way home from school everyday and I can picture myself being involved in the energetic atmosphere that the school provides. NYU is a school which I believe will challenge me both academically and socially to help me become the best version of myself that I can be. The types of people which NYU help to educate are nothing short of spectacular both as people and in their fields.
I have always been involved beyond the classroom with the schools I attend. I attended King Kekaulike High School in Maui. My freshman year, I was an active member in Interact club, a local service club. I was also on the junior varsity volleyball team and the girls varsity soccer team. I was the team captain for the girls varsity soccer team at KKHS both my junior and senior year.
Since setting foot on campus two years ago, University of Chicago has been a beacon of inspiration to me. Every aspect, from the flexible, stellar academics to the extensive research opportunities to its proximity to Chicago matches the setting in which I hope to immerse myself in over the next four years. University of Chicago is known as the Life of the Mind, a wonderful reputation. Its unofficial yet infamous motto, “where fun goes to die”, is just as endearing as its true motto, “Crescat scientia; vita excolatur.” I know I will always be searching, reaching, and still feeling content knowing I will never grasp all knowledge.
Learning and Scholarship are critical values to all students, but throughout my time at ISU, I have gained a much deeper appreciation for the idea of being a lifelong learner. The programs for Special Education at ISU are some of the best and have offered me more ways to learn than I originally thought imaginable, and have inspired me to explore my educational possibilities in the future. Through my clinical experiences, coursework, and experiences outside of the classroom, I have gained a deeper appreciation for what it means to work in special education. I have decided that I will get a Masters in School Counseling and work as an academic advisor for special education students. Through this path, I will be able to continue learning more and

Right from my childhood, I had the desire to come to New York City for my studies and there is no better school than New York University to fulfill my dream. The reputation of NYU is well established. Many famous people have graduated from the university in different disciplines such as business, entertainment, education, law, medicine, politics, literature and arts, most of whom have shaped America’s progress in the past century and more. I am very keen on pursuing undergraduate program in business from the reputed Stern School of Business.
New York University is one of the most prestigious universities in the world, one of the most diverse, and is located in the beautiful West Village in the heart of the amazing New York City, ripe with opportunities. These aspects definitely make NYU an attractive destination for all undergraduates. But why do I personally prefer NYU? The motto of the school, "To persist and to excel", really resonates with who I am and my intended major.
NYU at New York city has always been a center for academic excellence. Its reputation transcends international borders and is redefining the way we perceive education. The campus is ideally located in the heart of the city around central park, where I can get to experience a diverse, metropolitan environment while never having to sacrifice the convenience of a modern campus. I plan on pursuing a major in computer science at The Tandon school of engineering and a minor in business administration at The Stern school of business, both of which are renowned for their research and academic rigor. The choice ultimately boils to down to what the student can make out of his college experience and I believe that NYU will provide me with a perfect balance

By joining the network of NYU, I will be able to study at an institution that has a long tradition of academic excellence among private universities in the United States. Additionally, I will be able to be part of an internationally recognized learning network with locations all across the globe. It would be a pleasure to study at a globally recognized university. A friend of mine who is a recent graduate from NYU College of Nursing has praised the program and conveyed to me a very positive experience.
