Obesity is one of the most common health issue in America. The increasing rate of overweight and adults have become a worldwide issue. Obesity is a major problem and increases every day. Per, (https://medlineplus.gov/obesity.html) obesity means having too much body fat. It is different from being overweight which means weighing too much. The weight may come from muscle, bone, fat, and or body water, but obesity occurs when you eat more calories than you use. Obesity lowers self-esteem, there have been many cases where younger children who are obsessed have been bullied and picked on in school because of being over-weight. Self-doubt and insecurity can be very discouraging especially if someone is not comfortable in their own skin. Per, (Dr. Robin Miller, MD) being obese can cause high blood pressure in many ways. When there is increased weight it takes more pressure to move the blood around the body. The blood vessels become stiff increasing your adrenalin which causes high blood pressure. the good part bout high blood pressure is you can get rid of it once you lose the weight because your blood would be able to flow regularly around the body. Obesity increases your chances of having diabetes. Per, (www.obesity.org/content/weight-diabetes) people who are overweight have added pressure on their body’s ability to use insulin to properly control blood sugar levels, and are therefore more likely to develop diabetes. Obesity slows the body down and its functions which causes less proteins to get to the body. Having Diabetes can lead to serious complications such as heart disease, stroke and or blindness. Diabetes and obesity can really hinder your life so it is best you take the best steps to avoid or change the two. It’s a problem that must be changed because it brings even more
