Recommendation for Controlling Obesity on a Personal Level:
• Limit the amount of candy I eat and keep the late night snacking to a minimum
To Achieve this Recommendation: 1) Try and substitute a healthy snack for candy 2) Try and not eat after 6 or 7 pm 3) Keep healthy snacks in my field of view, If I see them I’ll be more likely to eat it
Rationale:
“When food is consumed late at night, anywhere from after dinner to outside a person’s typical sleep/wake cycle, the body is more likely to store those calories as fat and gain weight rather than burn it as energy.”
Candy is high in sugar; but starchy vegetables, such as potatoes and contains fibers, vitamins, and minerals that are better for you.
