Loyalty, trust and honesty are all important things to look for in a friendship. When you meet someone with these characteristics, you feel free and worthy of something. I’ve learned how difficult it is to find good hearted people in this world, so when you do meet them, do not take advantage of their love. In The Mice and Men, you can see Lennie feels the same way as George.
Lennie gives George a loyal companion and somebody to lean on. Lennie never doubts George and he looks up to him. While Crooks and Lennie are talking together Crooks says, “A guy needs somebody―to be near him. A guy goes nuts if he ain 't got nobody. Don 't make no difference who the guy
Slim and George walk into the bunkhouse together and George thanks Slim for Lennie’s new puppy. Slim comments on Lennie’s ability to work hard and mentions that it is obvious Lennie is not too bright. Slim then asks why Lennie and George go around together because most of the ranch hands he has seen are always alone and “never seem to give a damn about nobody”.
