Partnership can have different interpretations, very often it can be met as similar words, such, cooperation, teamwork, multi-disciplinary working. we may say that is like an umbrella term that embraces various relationships, complex and under-theorised. As a starting point we may use as a definition the following:" The essence of partnership is sharing. It is marked by respect for one another, role divisions, rights to information, accountability, competence, and value accorded to individual input. In short, each partner is seen as having something to contribute, power is shared, decisions are made jointly and roles are not only respected but are also backed by legal and moral rights. (Tunnard et al., 1983)
Now, if we refer strictly to our context, the health and social care sector, working in partnership is one of the major strategy that a care setting must to adopt in order to obtain good outcomes and maximise the care service delivery. The care users and their interests must be placed in centre of all relationships of all types. In the planning of services, care users, their care workers and other professionals must be recognised as partners.
