Coming overseas alone, I continue my academic life in the Pennsylvania State University, since I acknowledged that receiving education under an American education system would give me the access of the resources that I could never have in China. I determined the choice of the future path and strived out my path to the Pennsylvania State University, in where I achieved my 3.98 GPA, since I always prioritize my academic achievement first. To stand out among the candidates, I decided to choose Economics as my major, specializing quantitative and financial orientation, as well as two minors, Mathematics and Business, which would also cultivate my communication and quantitative skills.

Advised by Dr. Michele Gambera, the Head of Quantitative Analysis of UBS, my mentor, I chose some practical mathematics courses that may help me when I continue my study in the quantitative finance program, such as Calculus and Vector Analysis, Ordinary and Partial Differential equations and Introduction to Probability and Stochastic Processes for Engineering. In the coming semester, I am going to enroll in Numerical Computations and Linear Programing courses, which offers the analysis of a system. Desiring the high-tempo, exciting life in financial field, I dreamt to be a financial analyst, using my mathematics background to analyze the financial model and make them more profitable. If I get admitted to study in Columbia University, I would choose more finance classes in Business School, such as Finance B8368, Security Analysis, and B8384, Equity Derivatives, since I have strong interest in these financial derivatives. In addition, if possible, I would choose Programming for Quant and Comp Finance and Statistical Machine Learning.
