Personal Philosophy of Leadership
Throughout time there have been infinite amount of leaders each with their own take on leadership. Personally, I had never put much thought into what type of leaders there are or even what type of leader I was until this course. To me, a leader what just someone who got things done and achieved a specific goal. However, this class has taught me there are different types of leadership styles that accomplish different things and I am starting to realize what type of leader I am and what type of leader I want to be and how my personality is incorporated with it.
Coming into the LEADs program, I might not have known what specific of leader I was, but I do believe I had a strong sense of self. I am very acquainted with my personality and my strengths and weaknesses. I knew my Myers Briggs and feel that I really …show more content…

As I already touched on, I believe what gets me into trouble is my apathy and stubbornness; both are very common in greens and INTJs. When it comes to getting things done, I think about efficiency first and factor in emotions second. That is not to say I do not think of others and how they feel, I just have more of a disconnect from it. To me, the task has to get done and sometimes people are going to be doing things they might not like to do. Since I am someone who understands feelings have to be put aside at times, I forget that others might not feel the same way. This sometimes causes hurt feelings and maybe even conflict. Also my stubbornness hurts me at times. When I believe I am right, I do not back down. That, combined with my apathy can really lead to trouble. When I am being stubborn, I tend to become even less empathetic which leads to more hurt feelings and worse conflict. With that being said, I fully recognize my faults and while it is hard to change the way my brain works, I do try to work around
