During my childhood, Rutgers University was a name I heard often. My parents both graduated from Rutgers and frequently told me about their positive experiences there. This spurred an interest within me to learn more about the school. I delved into everything I could find online including virtual tours and alumni reviews; however, through an enlightening self-guided college visit and multiple informing conversations with the current students, I realized that Rutgers was much more than I initially thought and pondered, ”What I can get and give to this institution?”.
Morehouse College, with its rich history and tradition of producing leaders who change the world, resonated with my aspirations. I was drawn to
When I was was younger, I was a caterpillar crawling around trying to get through life, waiting to turn into the beautiful butterfly I know I could soon become. I made good decisions along with bad ones, saw the beauty in life as well as the unpleasant. I was like everyone else trying to be their own person, but now as I look at myself in the mirror I can finally see who I really am. I see myself as the beautiful butterfly I once dreamed of becoming, ready to fly down my own path. I have been in my chrysalis and I am finally out and ready to fly into my bright future.
However there is no denying that Chicago provides an almost movie like, whimsical, adventure filled campus. Museums and theaters are present nearly everywhere in Chicago and the school offers discounts on admission. Public transportation is offered at both campuses, something that is very important to me because I will not have a car on
This experience enhanced my social skills because I was able to connect with students from as close as Vermont and New Hampshire to as far as Jamaica and the West Indies. I enjoyed staying on the Champlain College campus, and I am now confident that I would like to study business.

Without a doubt attending North Carolina Governor 's School West has had the greatest impact on my thinking. I was privileged to join a few hundred of the brightest minds of my age in Winston-Salem, North Carolina for a six week experience away from outside influence. This immersion was especially life altering because of how open-minded everyone was to new perspectives. This truly created an environment of learning and expression in addition to being a major liberation from my everyday life as I had to be truly independent while on Salem College’s campus. I attended as a choral ensemble student, but was able to experience so much more in addition to choir.
Accessible community and cultural events, paired with the professional preparation and research opportunities of the Colleges of Arts and Sciences, are the changes that USF can offer and that I believe would make my college experience more rewarding. I feel that it can fulfill both my academic and personal goals; it is the institution where I want to complete my undergraduate
As cliche as it sounds, after visiting Montclair State University for the first time, there wasn’t a doubt in my mind that it was number one on my list of where I would love to attend college. The realization that it is the school for me has made my college search fairly easy; for there hasn’t been another school I have visited that I like as much as Montclair. When I stepped onto the campus, the physical beauty of it astonished me as well as the welcoming, promising and diverse atmosphere. I knew right away this was the place I would love to spend the next four years of my life learning, socializing, and blossoming as a person. Aside from the physical appeal Montclair offers, the curriculum seems to be beyond stellar.
So over the summer I got to visit two schools, the University of Maryland and Johns Hopkins university. So when I went to the University of Maryland I felt like I liked it more than John 's Hopkins. At the University of Maryland, they have the School of medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social worker law and dentistry. So I visit the school medicine and also got to see their campus and their hospital. During the tour, I also got to visit the trauma center and even went up to see their helicopter.
I am awakened by the bright light seeping through and around my black-out curtains. The clock on my night stand reads 3:02pm. I realize it is Thursday my night off from work and that I actually slept 6 straight hours with no interruption (that’s a record since I started working nights at the hospital). Still drowsy I toss my covers off and peel my listless body from the comfort of my cozy bed. I stumble down the stairs to the kitchen where I turn on my Keurig and realize it is “THURSDAY!
I graduated back in 2013 from a pretty decent school district. During high school I wasn’t an A student or a B student, I just did what I needed in order to pass. Once I got to my junior of high school I started taking things more seriously, I started making A’s and B’s. Once my senior year started the pressure was on. Everyone asking “what college are you thinking about attending?”
I am especially drawn to the fact that classes relate most of their concepts to real-life circumstances; an opportunity that will maximize my ability to think critically about different situations and act correspondly, either to contribute inside or outside of the classroom. Another aspect I value from Georgetown is its culture of collaboration. I have grown learning from other people, while sharing my own knowledge. Being teamwork a major factor of my success, I have been able to recognize and appreciate not only every brain around me, but every single human being that forms part of my
I miss Chicago more than I probably should, I miss the busy streets and crowded shopping centers, I miss the chili dogs and deep dish pizza which are near impossible to find in New York. But UChicago is more than just its location to me, when I first stumbled across it in the ninth grade I remember sensing that magical feeling that books and movies use to describe falling in love. Not only is it that UChicago appealed to me it with its plethora of challenging classes and world-renowned professors, but the quirkiness that just surrounded the place. I absolutely adore the fact that more energy is put into your mathletes or star wars club than the football
The first half of this semester was swift and I can’t believe how fast it passed by. College is a whole new world for me that I had never imagined with a lot of new experiences that I hope will shift me into a better and smarter person. There are more things I can do in college that I would have never dared to do in high school and I am happy for these new freedoms. I am able to eat in class, leave class without asking and they don’t care if I pay attention or not. My high school teachers would always tell me to wait for the bell, sometimes would not let me leave and if I did not pay attention they would yell.
