To: The Girl With Bruises on Her Heart After struggling with what I was going to even write about for a week or so, I decided to take the advice from one of the essays I read in class called “How to Write an Essay”. Basically, it told me not to overthink and a burst of inspiration will magically come to me. Surprisingly enough, this works. Because here I am writing my essay a week before it’s due. Yes, shocker I know. It also explained that in order to create a good essay I have to be passionate about my topic. Sometimes that means making it personal and writing about something you have good insight on. Although it’s a heavy topic, I’ve decided to write about the infamous broken heart. More specifically, how to defuse the overwhelming feelings that come when your heart feels like it’s going to explode. Everyone has their own way dealing with obstacles in life, but others don’t know where to begin. If your friends and family had a spirit animal no doubt they would be a lion, a tiger, or a bear. Oh my! All corny jokes aside they will protect you to the ends of the earth. Chances are they’ve been with you through thick and thin and they aren’t going to leave your corner now. They understand that this is a fight you can’t handle on your own, so I encourage that you talk with them. Not to mention they will give you the best hugs. Hugging yourself is alright, but trust me their hugs are better. Talking about your feelings with someone like your parents or best friend is one of the best ways to recover from a traumatic experience like this. I’d also like to add that they are great listeners as well as advisors. This is simply because they have been in similar experiences and are wiser now. I can almost guarantee your mother or father have gone through a heart wrenching break up. Guess what? They made it through and so will
