Class: MAN4602, International Business

This semester provided me with a great opportunity to expand my knowledge of the international marketplace and economy system, which can be a stepping stone to a career in International Business or maybe entrepreneurship opportunities. In today’s market economy, a familiarity with various regions of the world and cultures and their impact on US’s business is essential. Additionally, one of the advantages is the growth opportunities that are available for individuals who possess a current understanding of the global context of business: from the logistics of international trade and cross-border investments to the cultural and ethical issues that are imbued in the practices of business

In a world that moves toward an interdependent, integrated global economic system Globalization refers to the shift toward a more integrated and interdependent world economy, including two facets: Globalization of markets and Globalization of production in which globalization of markets refers to the merging of historically distinct and separate national markets into one huge global marketplace. Globalization of production refers to the sourcing of goods and services from locations around the globe to take advantage of national differences in the cost and quality of factors of production like land, labor, and capital. Companies can lower their overall cost structure and improve the quality or functionality of their product offering. An interesting learning was the role of technological change which have contributed to the lowering of trade barriers that made globalization of markets and production possible. This change has been experience since the end of World War II where major advantages in communication, information processing, and transportation technology have been experienced, including the explosive emerge of the Internet since

I got to work with my team and we were able to improve our working skills. We were able to research together and put all of our findings as one. I have been comfortable presenting in front of people but this time I had a different experience. My team went first and we received so much constructive criticism. This was a good eye opener as I thought I was a pro in public speaking and I didn’t realize all the improvement that had to be done in my end. This was helpful as in my current job I have to do presentations ad even though they are for much smaller groups, it is still good to have this experience. Whenever I have to present in front of corporate or a bigger crowd I feel more prepared now. Its best that I learned this in class and not just in my job as it could have had serious consequences. While doing this assignment, I was also able to do one of my favorite things which is designing. I love designing whether it be via power point or flyers or newsletters. I was able to show my skills in designing a newsletter. I was also able to help a few on the members in my team as they weren’t familiar with Publisher. It felt good being able to help them as they have helped me in the class. That is what teamwork is all about!
