To make a change, to make a difference, and to make a mark are my goals in life. In order to achieve my ambition, I plan to be the first in my family to attend a 4-year college. I plan to be the first in my family to earn a bachelors degree. I plan to be the first to not let my economic barriers restrain me from achieving my dreams. I have undergone various hardships which have shaped me into the passionate and hardworking student I am today. I plan to use these personal abilities that I have built on my past mistakes and experiences to be the key to my success. I learned this from growing up in a low-income family with only one parent working. They are the main reason I developed the lifelong passion I obtain now; to be a teacher. I plan to one day major in Education or English in a 4-year college and become a teacher for children or adults. My main pursuit in life is to teach English to non-native speakers who struggle with the language as I once did. My first language was Spanish, and I struggled with the concept of English when I wrote. The first class I took that challenged me was Honor English during middle school, once I passed that class, I realized I could overcome any obstacle life hands at me. This encouraged me to continue taking advanced English classes throughout high school. Although, it may not seem like a big deal, to me, a child of an immigrant whose first language was not English, this was a sign that I could accomplish anything. My love of English, Literature, and writing only increased as I continued high school. Due to all these reasons, I want to become an English teacher and visit schools outside of the nation to help non-native speakers learn the language.
