My main reason for applying to the University of Pennsylvania is because the Wharton School of Business offers actuarial science as an undergraduate program. Becoming an actuary is one of my major life goals as, when I was younger, I would have never imagined that I would be able to comprehend or relish the level of Mathematics that I am currently studying.
When I was in the fourth grade, I had convinced myself that I was unable to do well in Mathematics. I absolutely loathed the subject. I could never seem to get higher than a B minus in any exam, quiz, or homework assignment I completed, regardless of the endless Herculean effort I put into studying. English had always been my stronger subject, and I believed that I would only be able to achieve excellence in that area.
However, I decided to push myself beyond my limits when I entered high school, and to approach the subject with a positive mindset

Another reason why I am applying to the university is because the Wharton School of Business is the ideal environment to help me improve in the area of mathematics and also develop my artistic talents.
