During my senior year of high school, I wanted nothing more than to be admitted to the School of Engineering here at CU Boulder. Once I got accepted, I was ready to start planning my future. I came to CU Boulder this fall with the ultimate goal of becoming a world class engineering student. I have known from the beginning that this was going to be an extremely difficult task, and I knew I was going to have to push myself to new extents in order to achieve this goal. With my first semester coming to an end, I genuinely believe I am on the right path to achieving my goal.

Currently, I am far from becoming an actual engineer, but if I set short-term and long-term goals, becoming an engineer will become a more attainable goal. Some of my goals that I plan on accomplishing are keeping my GPA up, figuring out what minors might blend well with my major, figuring out how long I plan on taking to graduate, finding internships and jobs, and making big decisions for my plans after graduation. As of right now, my first semester has been going far better than I could have imagined. I am a Civil Engineering major, and the sub discipline that interests me most is structural engineering/ structural mechanics, construction engineering and management, and civil systems. If I choose to do an Applied Math minor, this would help give me an edge when actually trying to
