Learning about myself as a reader and writer has helped me become a better student, improve my reading and writing skills, and focus on my future goals. According to my ENF class, my instructor taught me how to build up my vocabulary and improve my writing skills and reading skills by practicing exercises, using online resources and writing strategies consistently. Thus, I can accomplish my study plan to fulfill a college academic study level in writing and reading and transfer to a 4-year university.
First, I have learned much about myself as a reader and a writer. I practiced different exercises throughout this semester, such as completing all assignments in textbook Improving Vocabulary Skills and creating flash cards to develop vocabulary.

Matter of fact, it is very important to have general skills to develop future learning in many different subjects. Therefore, I will become a better student in this semester by creating study plan and maintaining order with my personal duties, which could help me to balance between school activity and personal life. In addition, I could work on my reading skills and writing skills methodically. Maintaining healthy life is most critical about building a better life, for it controls my physiologically and mentally states. When I became sick, I cannot work or concentrate on either my housework or my school assignments. It means I fail both, which is not my expectation. To avoid failure, I should stay healthy. Before I take a class, I used to be afraid about writing, especially writing in another language. Because I didn’t know how to organize my ideas and check my writing to avoid digressing from about the main idea. Also, I was afraid to use new vocabulary. Nevertheless, in my ENF class, I can use the skills I have learned as a better writer and reader; for example, revising ideas in many different drafts, and editing for grammar, mechanics, and sentence structure by using several tools I have learned to help me write about an essay, such as using word proofing, grammarly.com and quill.com to write better sentences.
