For my second choice option, I have decided to take the road of learning and mastering economics. In being an honest person, I can say that economics was never my best friend in high school. I am embarrassed to admit that, but I knew how important it was for me to master this field in order for me to truly understand managing a business. It was economics that taught me all that I needed to know when it came to customers’ demands and the pricing of a business. My interest for economics first sparked when I was at a grocery store and I needed to buy a gallon of milk. I never could figure out why grocery stores stocked the milk in the back until I took my first economics class. The most intriguing thing that economics can do is offer a framework of critical thinking and solving problems that result from scarcity. Economics for me makes me thinks about the “what-ifs” of a business and ways to create different models with the same idea. Economics is not just a field of study to me, but it is a way to live my life through my career choice. I love the way economics makes me compare things in my life as a need or want because before I started taking an interest in this field, I was spending money on a lot of things that I didn’t need, but wanted. No longer did I allow myself to think that a simple solution such as lowering my cost of spending could fix an issue. I can to respect and value that any action taken on the issue at hand had repercussions that had to be thought about. This state of mind helped me to climb up my career ladder much faster than any other field could offer
