Chemical engineering is a degree that utilizes both physical and life sciences to produce, transport, transform, and use chemicals, materials, and energy. People in this field turn their prowess in chemicals towards energy, medicine, electronics, and materials. My interest in Chemical Engineering stems from the diverse amount of jobs it translates to and also its large influence of Chemistry.
I began to become interested in Chemistry my junior year of high school when I decided to take AP Chemistry. Chemistry drew me in because of the ability to discover what is undiscoverable and delve into a world that is based on both theory and certainty. I chose the broad area of engineering was because I have always excelled in math and science classes. Additionally, I didn’t want to focus on just Chemistry as a major. With …show more content…

Also with the program here at Tech, when I finish my degree plan, I will have a minor in Chemistry, which sates my love of Chemistry. Chemical has the theoretical part of science that I love and filling up on facts and knowledge interests me more than solving the equations required for building bridges or structures. Obviously I will still have to solve lots of equations and play with numbers in this major but the fact that the backbone is Chemistry makes it less boring.
Chemical Engineers have the ability to apply the principles of math, chemistry, physics, and biology to the production of chemicals, food, fuel, drugs, and lots of other products. Some Chemical Engineers even design the operations involved in manufacturing plants and treating byproducts. I don’t know
