Personal Statement: A Career As A Construction Worker

Farming has always been in my life ever since I was a little boy. My grandpa would always take my brother and I out to the farm and we would help him do whatever we could do. We always thought we were cool when we stood at the top of the semi trailer and watched my grandpa harvest the corn. I would love going with him in the combine because he would always have candy. I would always find the blue raspberry dum dum suckers because they tasted so good. Although I wanted to be a farmer, I also wanted to be a construction worker. I love to build things. I first started to get fascinated when I made a flower bed for my mom. Now I build just about anything I can think about. Sadly now it is a time in my life where I must start thinking about what I am going to do when I get older. I have always wanted to be a farmer who drives the tractors, combines, and semis around, but I have always wanted to be a construction worker. I plan to make the best out of one or both of these careers. …show more content…

It is also a very fascinating job and can potentially get paid lots of money. The whole point of the job is to till, plant, fertilize, and harvest crops(Agriculture Equipment Operator, 2017). You can also use threshers, balers, rakes, loading machines, and dryers (Agriculture Equipment Operator, 2017). The main equipment you use for harvesting are, tractors, combines, semis and trailers or wagons. You may run spraying machines if you choose. My dad pays someone to spray the field because we don’t own a fertilizer machine. You use big equipment on this job and anything can go wrong. At this point, we know what machines we need to use but we have to know what we use them for and what you do as an agriculture equipment
