As a current library media specialist at an elementary school, I have also had the privileged of working as an elementary school teacher for twenty years. I believe that it is the teacher’s position and duty today to help scaffold each child’s learning ability in order to help them achieve their fullest potential within literacy learning. I want to create a school environment and a program that will meet the fundamental knowledge skills and abilities of each stakeholder. Utilizing my skills by increasing student achievement and helping them become information literate. The students at my school are of low socioeconomic status. The library does not have an equal share of computers or technological resources. The students do not have sufficient access to technology at home which is another issue. As educators we want to promote technology and books but we understand the funding can be difficult. Traditional educational practices no longer provide students with all the necessary skills for economic survival in today’s society or work place. The experience over the years have helped me understand the wise use of technology can enrich learning. Library Services is an organization that are compelled to share information across another organizations contents which requires interoperability. The LIS professional’s responsibility are creating an effective program is now playing a key role in providing a wealth of information management and initiatives. Every day is a rapid change of more information and people. The more information and people, the harder and more complex is the control of information management. The professional role is to understand that history is an important factor of information infrastructure and its public policy implications. The program incorporates people, technology, content and the interactions between them. Interoperability includes the exchange of data, records, and messages between computer systems across different hardware, operating systems, and networks. Ian Quillen an educator who wrote the article titled Bandwidth Demand Rise as Schools Move to Common Core. I would agree as a reader and an educator that Bandwidth is a priority still in demand for all schools. Common core state standards focus on math and English language arts, they also emphasize technology as a way to learn knowledge and skills in these areas. The College and Career Readiness standards that anchor the K-12 standards call for students to learn skills through technology and multimedia. Outside experts, advocates and government agencies are emphasizing more attention towards schools growing demand for better Internet Connectivity.
