Personal Statement: Continuing My Education

For a very long time, I've placed a high priority on continuing my education, not just because I want to attend college but also because I like to learn. I enjoy learning new things that may apply to my future and helping others. My dream has always been to attend college since I've always desired to learn more.
I've always worked very hard for everything in my life, which comes from my parents. College is one of the things I've worked the hardest to achieve. I want to go to college because I want to teach high school Spanish. I've always thought of teachers as individuals who work to benefit the community. In a community, you put aside your differences and concentrate on what you all have in common. I support the community at my church. I teach an 8-student class at church because I knew I wanted to be a teacher in the future. I always look forward to it during my week because it's so rewarding. Before that, I volunteered wherever I could at the church. I want to keep giving back to my church and the teaching community once I graduate from college.
Every type of community exists. The sense of community here in Kansas City is what makes me want to stay. I want to participate in whatever form I can because I enjoy being of service. I just want to be able to help those around me. Even if for some reason I decide not to become a teacher, I still want to work with others and be helpful. I can only continue my journey and truly help my community through college.
A college degree benefits me personally in addition to assisting me with my future career. I love learning new things and going to school as I've already mentioned. It sounds strange, but I find comfort and connections with people I wouldn't normally associate myself with at school. I consider the community that comes along with college when I consider going there. A person's life begins a fresh chapter at college. It's an opportunity to expand your social network, develop new skills, and perhaps begin building your professional network.
