I first wanted to become a teacher when I was younger. I loved the idea of teacher younger children. During high school I went back and forth between nursing and teaching. I began tutoring Kindergarteners through the Teen Leadership Corporation at our school and fell in love with helping younger children. Although I have thought about the job security in teaching the main reason I am determined to become a teacher is working with youth. Through the semester I am excited to learn more about what it takes to become a teacher; this includes the seven standards, how to make lesson plans, handle unpredictable things that may come into the classroom, etc. I know the first of the seven standards are getting to know the children in your class.
