As Calvin continued to preach on salvation by grace through faith he also was working on implementing this into the government system and reforming the church even further. Calvin was invited to Geneva to work with the government and reform the city. He strived to create a city that was a reflection of Christian principles hoping it to be a “model Christian city”. He didn’t want just the government to be built upon these principles he wanted to get into the everyday lives of the people and make sure social aspects were built upon God’s authority. This was implemented by having elders of the church also be magistrates in the city.
A large group of students in the United States makeup a large population of English language learners. Students who are considered English language learners undergo many challenges in their education, and without the necessary support and resources from their educators it can make it hard for them to succeed. A teacher plays a significant role in the success of a child, and it is crucial for them to be able to provide the proper education to students whose first language is not English. It is also very important for teachers to understand the challenges that these students are facing. Having empathy towards the students allows for the teacher to create better connections and relationships to better help them.
I am currently teaching at Swainston Middle School in North Las Vegas. Our student population is very diverse, including English Language Learners (ELLs). During this time as a teacher, I have served students with different language needs. It has been my goal to engage ELL students in my lessons as every other student. It is my opinion that as teachers we are all language teachers.
In my role as a future educator, I intend to balance the fulfillment of the curriculum's objectives with respect for the distinctive personalities of the students I will teach. I possess a strong preference for the care pedagogy method of education. Integrating care pedagogy into the classroom places the responsibility of providing a safe and caring environment on the educator and emphasizes the value of developing a rapport with the students so that they feel supported. I would like my future students to view me as a compassionate role model through my actions of promoting appropriate self-validation. I will actively work to establish a great deal of importance on my students' character growth as well as their success in education.
When students grow together in an inclusion classroom and respect learning diversity can help separate the divide that might have once existed between students. Inside the classroom is where students learn how to grow as individuals and as learners. To be an effective special education teacher, it’s important for the teacher to hold themselves and their students to the high standards that one wants to achieve. In order for the students' to succeed to the expectations that teachers hold them to, teachers need to focus on their own teaching achievements.
Teaching has always been an interest of mine ever since I was a little girl. I would always play school and pretend that I was a teacher. I've always enjoyed helping people learn and helping them reach their goals. I have already had some experience with teaching while I was in highschool and these experiences helped me find my love for teaching which is why I thought teaching would be the best career path for me. I want to teach because I believe that I can make a difference in today society to shape young minds. The reason why I wanted to become a teacher is when I was in high school I did not have a clue what I wanted to be and then I met this teacher who actually had my sister for a student. So basically she already knew my whole family. Anyways when I met this teacher she started to ask me what I wanted to be when I grew up and my responds was I have no clue, I am still experiencing things. Then she started to tell me about what she teaches, she teaches child development.
Teachers have the potential of being the most influential person in the classroom. In order to influence the students, a teacher should be accessible so the students feel free to engage you on any topic. Students who walk in the classroom without desiring to know what you are going to say and do are the least motivated students. Something important to focus on is to use different instruction or teaching strategies that are better for different students' needs since not every student is at the same level. Every student learns a different way, so being able to recognize how a student learns and becomes motivated to learn is a very important thing in becoming a teacher.
As a student, when you enter into a school or a typical day in a classroom, you don’t think twice about the job or task assigned to you for the day. You don’t think much about your surroundings, a teaching style, or the needs and challenges others face. Why? We are conditioned to this environment; we are brought up with certain expectations and assumptions of school that is now only second nature to us. We get absorbed into our own world, most always thinking about ourselves, rather than others.
Solving the teaching problem lies in granting teachers the ability to teach effectively and receive incentives that make their job worth having. The profession is not an easy one and comes with plenty of responsibility and should be treated as such. However, is the plan of giving teachers better incentives reasonable? I asked a family member, my step-mother, what she thought about the solution of setting a higher standards for teachers and creating more incentives for the profession? After going through some of the potential solutions to the problem and how the profession could be transformed into something more and provide students with a better education system she agreed with the overall concept.
I have always wanted to be a teacher. As a child I would play “teacher” with my younger brother showing him how to add, subtract, read, and write. I enjoy helping others understand new information and love to watch them grow and be able to accomplish what their hearts desire. Classroom environments are a special way teachers show people their differences. I lean towards a more hands on classroom helping everyone express their own opinions, while respecting others.
