Searching for a future
As society changes, academics are becoming more important to individuals as one continues their education and learnings. For me, academics were always a top priority in my life. The achievements that I have fulfilled throughout the years is something that I cannot dream or imagine if education was not a top priority. Academics affects my future drastically because if I took the road to not do what I do today, I would not be able to learn and experience any lessons and not be motivated. Even though I continue to struggle, academics have taught me to envision a dream and have something to strive for that will last a lifetime. The purpose of having leadership skills for my education and future is to help train leadership techniques for me to become exposed to the community around me. When becoming exposed to many situations as a leader, I am able to learn from the lessons and not make the same mistakes again. Having leadership skills has made me realize that one will have to learn lessons and continue to grow from flaws to become leaders. Lessons and experiences that involved in handling leadership techniques, especially, will get me prepared for the real world. The feelings of knowing that she have helped and gave it her best will be an accomplishment to carry on in the future. Just by spending a bit of my time in community services through the Stanly Early College, not only impacted myself but especially to the community and towards family and friends. Being involved, teaches people that giving back is not the point of community service, but how helping a little can help the community become better. The community service that I am most proud of participating in is Relay For Life. This experience taught me to strive for what I envision. During the event, as I saw the people who had cancer walk around the track while everyone clapped, I realize that they have been trying to fight for their lives and not knowing what will happen in the future. I believe the strongest people on earth are people who are fighting for their lives
