Throughout Highschool, I have tried my best to follow a personal tenet that I have set for myself to ensure that I become the best possible person I can be. Even though I have plenty of room to improve, I am proud of the progress I’ve made. “To learn, to teach, and to give back” was a statement that resonated with me first said by my first science team coach in freshman year. I want to volunteer concurrently with my learning, as it will both act as a supplement to my education and benefit those that are affected.

One particular program that I hold a keen interest in is the opportunity to act as a student ambassador for the engineering department. In my reading of the program's webpage, I have found that ambassadors meet expectations similar to that of the tenets of a Nutmeg scholar: leadership and service. Accordingly, the engineering ambassador program offers prospective students opportunities to pursue leadership and service aspects. One of these opportunities allows selected representatives of the engineering department the chance to assist in the recruitment of prospective engineering Huskies. Moreover, by exciting others about the prospect of attending UCONN for engineering, I'd be improving my new school by providing driven, collaborative, and successful students to help enrich our learning environment. I have had experience relevant to an engineering ambassador in my role as a UCONN ECE ambassador. I initially applied for the ambassador role at our Highschool because of a conversation I had with the Housatonic Community College guidance counselor last year. I was registering for the High School Partnership program, which allows students to take one free college-level course per semester.
