I was born and raised in the town of Griffith, NSW. The only times I have ever left were for small trips, usually not lasting more than a day. I’ve been to Sydney once in my life, and I loved it. Compared to Griffith, Sydney is like an open field full of opportunities and ways to build a prosperous future. Griffith, while it does have its fair share of things to do and people to help, pales in comparison. Ever since I went on that one trip to Sydney, I have longed to leave Griffith where I’ve lived all of my life to go to Sydney, where my dreams and desires await me. Several things clicked for me at that moment - firstly, I knew in my heart that my true passion in life was economics, and I was determined to go to a university and study it further. However, my heart then sank as I remembered my family’s financial situation. I was not in a position to be moving to a city and every day I felt more and more stressed about it. That’s why I decided to apply for this scholarship, as it would be exactly what I need to help fulfill my dream of learning more about economics and spreading my newfound knowledge to people all over the globe. If I am given the opportunity to live in Sydney and study at Macquarie, it would be like a massive weight was lifted from my shoulders. I know for a fact that I would be able to study diligently, and happily participate in community events wherever and whenever I could. I want to be a role model for my peers, and I know I have the eagerness, passion, and willingness to help anyone that I see in need of assistance.
If I was given this opportunity, I could really begin a brand new chapter of my life, one dedicated even more so to helping others in need, participating in various kinds of community events, volunteering, and more.
