Pursuing a degree in public health will be a real opportunity for me, as this is an area of great interest and personal significance. There is a sense of passion for me to explore the social determinants of health and their impact against the backdrop of socioeconomic factors, policies and regulatory frameworks, and to also explore ways of working with people and communities to help them develop skills to improve their health. There is a desire to explore health needs and the links between theory and practice in relation to the concepts and principles of public health. I've realised that assisting the vulnerable is something I’m passionate about., a skill I'm very keen on developing. In the role as a support worker, I gained confidence and experience on how to effectively support people with physical and mental challenges in a person-centred manner, ensuring that they maintain their identity and dignity without bias and prejudices. I write reports on service users' well-being on a daily basis, monitor their independence goals and provide any necessary assistance, and help them in developing greater independence while also improving their employment abilities. I've had the training to learn how to effectively support service users with health and well-being issues, as well as care review meetings to learn how to assist service users in evaluating their circumstances and outlining long-term objectives and intended outcomes while encouraging empowerment and self-confidence. High empathy, active listening skills, and the ability to understand the plight of clients by giving them the space to talk freely and openly without prejudice in order to assist them in managing their challenges and finding personal resolutions are among the personal skills and qualities that I have gained in my role as a support worker. I've learnt how to work closely with key stakeholders such as law enforcement, local government, social services, and community organisations. I've gained a wealth of knowledge and skills over the years, and I'm proud of my ability to deliver exceptional services. I have demonstrated outstanding skills in customer service, communication, meetings, exceeding targets, problem-solving, initiative, organisational, time management and dedication.
