Statement on Research Research as a service to society has been always my main motivator; I realize that this may be considered naive, nevertheless it is the base of my commitment to the Land Grant University System. Although the impact of the Land Grant University System is very difficult to accurately measure with simple statistics, there is no doubt in mind (in agreement with many authors) that the research conducted in Universities like South Dakota State University (SDSU) is likely one of the main factors in the economic and technological development of the USA in the 20th century, and it is an example of the impact that universities could and should have to improve people’s lives around the World. My interest for the scientific area, what Heritage has to offer me, and what I bring to share with the community are the main reasons why I want to study at Heritage University in order to accomplish my academic and professional goals. Science is one of the most interesting areas that touch all kinds of life since a child I was interested in the science to become a scientist or doctor. For instance, during my high school years I took high level courses related to the science including Honor Chemistry, Honors Biology, and Principles of Biomedical Science. Further, I become more curious about the life in their all forms and of the non-ending knowledge that comes with. Beyond high school years, I have been involved in the scientific area due to the satisfaction that research and the possibilities that science brings into my life, how powerful one becomes with the knowledge and the actions taken after obtaining that experience.
I started 4-H as an incredibly shy third-grader; all of the older members were so intimidating, and I had no idea where I would fit in. It didn't take long before 4-H changed my life because every single meeting, activity, and service project was geared towards all ages. I suddenly wanted to be a part of every service project my club did, and this sparked my passion for finding new ways to help my community and world. 4-H has helped me learn that I can lead groups well and in an organized fashion; this has lead to the success of the numerous service projects I've initiated with my club and community. Coming from a single parent household with a mom whose only monthly income is a social security check in the mail, paying for college will be a struggle. My mother is diagnosed with a bipolar disorder as her disability, enabling her to receive the small amount of money that she does. Sometimes, she fixes very small portions for herself in order to provide meals for my sister and I. My sister, who is also in college, uses her own hard earned money to pay for classes herself. Some semesters she has to skip signing up for classes in order to save up enough money for classes and books.
Right along with financial stability and this helped them build and reconstruct houses all over the country! In 1995 the Fuller couple founded yet another program called the “ Fuller Center for Housing”, but was not started until spring of 2005. Fuller center for Housing is an organization set out to help end poverty all over the world. Think Habitat for Humanity isn't a big deal?
Only 1 person out of 175 million people win the lottery. When I won $250,000,that was more than I would have ever have expected to win. Winning the lottery is a once in a lifetime opportunity you can’t forget. After winning the $250,000,I chose to spend it on a golden hoverboard, a trip to London,England,and making a donation to Make-A-Wish foundation.

Why should I take you ? “ The day was beautiful, as you start the hike you get a rush of excitement of seeing turquoise waters and seeing one of the most beautiful place in the world. This is in your mind as you start your twelve mile hike in the Grand Canyon , you think to yourself that after all of the hard work you put in to reach your goal of coming on this trip, has finally payed off. That is what you feel when you are accepted to go on the LEL.
Sometimes bad economies hurt everybody, But Habitat for Humanity is very successful. They are an independent, non-profit organization that accepts some government funds and donations. It gives people strength and pride being a homeowner. It brings communities, race, genders, and different religions together. When I was managing a Home Improvement store we built 3 2-story homes.

Volunteering on behalf of Habitat for Humanity was an eyeopening experience, as I was able to witness the positive changes I made. Habitat for Humanity strives to bring communities together, using volunteers to build homes for those in need. Upon discovering my local chapter of Habitat for Humanity, I instantly signed up for the next build and spent my entire Saturday helping a family in need. Hardly having nailed something before, I was suddenly tasked with building the frame and siding of somebody's future home. I took this responsibility seriously and spent the next 8 hours meticulously nailing away, making sure I made no mistakes.
I want to go on an alternative break trip to spread my knowledge, experience, and positivity with other members of my team, and the people, land, and environment that we encounter throughout the trip. I want to create lasting memories and friendships with new people in new places, and to learn more about different parts of the country by experiencing them first hand. I know I will grow tremendously as a person and learn more about myself through this experience, while most importantly having a positive
Furthermore, i love the feeling I get when I explore new ideas, histories, beliefs, and scenarios. It not only increases my knowledge, but also helps me overcome problems that I am dealing with. I get to experience life’s problems, pleasures, and I come out of my personal bubble to become a better person by exploring new cultures. Travelling is my passion because it’s something that I am not afraid to chase after. I get to learn more and more about myself and I am able to expand my horizons every time I travel.
