I think this a very intriguing and important quote for all who inspire to become a teacher or are currently a teacher. I think a teacher needs to have the same expectations for all of their students. If an educator doubts the capabilities of their student then their academic success can suffer drastically. A teacher should view each student is capable of fulfilling their full potential with the proper guidance. If a teacher views their students as vital members of a community the student will feel more comfortable coming into the classroom. A teacher should not have any bias toward his or her students. I think the quote is an excellent reference for background knowledge. In order for students to fully comprehend any lesson and educator should ensure students have the adequate pre requisite knowledge. For example, if the teacher is discussing the seasons the teacher should not infer each student has experienced being in snow for instance. Some students may have never ever before seen snow and may not know what that season is. So the teacher should build their background knowledge with brainstorming activities. Nevertheless, in the video we see the teacher used a song most of her students knew and tied it into a particular lesson. I thought this was an exceptional example of how student can connect what they are learning to their personal experience. In order to successfully teach and help students learn they need to be aware of the attention span. If students are not interested or engages then they are less likely to pay attention. In this quote the students were excited at the beginning, however, the teacher failed to modify the lesson for students who were more advanced. The student already learned how to pass the level on which they were assigned and found it useless to use the laptop any more. So, I would have tried to find an alternative for those students. In the video it demonstrates the students are bored with the lesson until the teacher changes the presentation. The teachers uses an animation to show to the students and they seem to be fascinated by
