This year my Eighth grade class will be heading off to Washington D.C. We need to fundraise lots of money to ensure everyone who wants to can go on the trip. I would be wonderful if you could donate money to our cause. I can accept checks and cash in the mail or an I would really like to go to Washington D.C. because this is a huge learning experience for me. Plus I want to make the most of my education. I have been to D.C once before. It was very inspiring going to the Smithsonian and understanding the roots of our country. I want to go to learn about how policies and laws are made and why it is that way. I can do this with the support of my peers. I would love to make a better connection with my friends, people I have not gotten a chance to socialize with, and kids from across the country. First off, I have been closely following the political elections and the laws surrounding it. Secondly, I believe that history is a very important part of making decisions and running one’s life. I get to learn the history of where I’m from at the best place possible, which represents a long history. with an organization called Close Up I can do this. In this great research environment I will be able to make this interest in history largely impact the course of my life. I want to learn and talk with other people and be a leader in my community about different issues in this world, and I can pursue this interest on the trip.
