Just think, a tiny white and brown bunny rabbit sitting on a lab table not knowing what is about to happen to him, little does he know, he is about to be injected with a strange substance that could probably result in burning, shocking, poisoning, addiction to drugs, and/or brain-damage (“Cruelty”). Imagine being locked in a small cage inside of a dark room with no control of mating, eating, or living to see another day inside of the horrendous room. Millions of animals are legally undergoing this torture from scientists on a daily bases. The animals who suffer will never be the same afterwards, they are enduring pain on a regular without any painkillers or medication in general (“Cruelty”). Mice, fish, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, …show more content…
“The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has noted that 92 percent of all drugs that are shown to be safe and effective in animal tests fail in human trials” (“Animal Testing is”). Animal testing is not necessary and the technology in medicine can still advance even without the unwilling sacrifice of someone’s potential pet. If people were more educated on the facts behind animal testing, they would understand that testing on an animal is not a clear representation of how that chemical will interact with a human body. Different cell, tissue, and nervous systems, and how they interact inside the body, could produce many variations of results. A distressed, tortured, and inactive rabbit who is injected with a chemical or medicine that is meant for a human who is having issues in another category, would easily be misrepresented (“Animal Testing is”). Even with all the testing that occurs on these innocent animals, there is always going to be a human who is the first to try a drug, and in essence they are truly the test subject because this experiment is more of a comparison to how the drug will work (“Animal Testing
