Stop Testing Animals to Create Drugs for Humans

I will start by asking you a question. Would you stand by and watch a helpless animal have its spinal chord crushed, a hole drilled in its skull or its skin burned off? Would you perform any of these inhumane tortures on an innocent creature? No? Well, I am Chantal Kander, and I am here to tell you that you are paying for people to abuse and torture animals, in these ways and many more, in spite of the fact that there are cheaper, faster and more accurate alternatives. Drug testing on helpless animals is an unacceptable and old fashioned method of science, and should no longer be tolerated in our modern society.

The first issue with animal testing is that of ethics.

The second issue with animal testing is one of scientific stance. Namely, that there are father, cheaper and more effective scientific methods of testing drug, which don't require animal experimentation. These methods are more accurate at predicting human reactions than animal tests ever were. One of the best known examples of a drug that failed animal tests but is quite effective in humans is aspirin.
