Animal testing is an experiment that uses non-human creatures to develop new medicines or other products. Nowadays animal experiments have become increasingly popular around the world because modern technology is well developed, and scientific knowledge is sufficiently studied. Nevertheless, it has caused a significant number of problems such as extinction and environmental hazards. Therefore, animal experimentation has become a highly debated topic in recent decades. Although some people argue that animal testing is of benefit to humanity, from my perspective, it should be banned in that it deprives animals of rights, it takes much money and time, and it negatively impacts on the nature. First of all, animals rights especially involve lives are equivalent to humanity, but animal testing harms them a lot. Many people think that humanity has dominated the world, and it is not necessary to concern animal rights. Their argument is somewhat reasonable because animals do not have the same ability to live as people. However, it is bloody that animals are killed and dissected in laboratories, and they can never continue to live anymore. According to Kolar (2006), there are “millions of animals used …show more content…
Some people say that animal testing should be used for more times because people desire to have new medicines. However, not only it would take many years, but also cost too much money. Although it seems that the materials and facilities for animal experimentation are not expensive, research shows that the cost of an animal experiment is extremely high. McDaniel said, “The scientific community has wasted $20 million taxpayer dollars exposing animals to drugs for a variety of arbitrary and pointless tests (2010, “The High Cost”). From the data, we can see that the animal test is failed, although the community put a great amount of money on it. As a result, animal testing should be banned because of its high
